MotionAmigo is an After Effects plugin that brings AI agents into motion design workflows. Its CEP panel spawns a Claude Code or Codex instance inside AE, running on your own AI subscription. Through MotionAmigo your agent connects to our remote MCP server to become an After Effects scripting expert. With 300+ tools spanning compositions, layers, shapes, keyframes, expressions, and more, your agent can animate and design from natural language.

• Windows support. MotionAmigo now runs on Windows 10 or 11 with After Effects 2024 or later. Everything from the Mac version, guided setup included, works the same on Windows.
• One-click setup. The guided setup now automates each step for users at the click of a button. Install the CLI, add it to PATH, install Node.js for Codex, open sign-in, with copy-paste commands as a fallback.

• Upgraded to the latest model Opus 4.8 for Claude Code backend.
• Fast mode now uses a higher reasoning effort for more reliable quick builds (medium instead of low).
• Fast mode now does a quick visual self-check on text, color, layout, and reference-matching builds, catching obvious visual errors it could previously skip.
• Codex now has its own one-line installer without Node.js.
• Refreshed install guides. Each platform now ships its own install PDF, updated to match the guided setup.

Fixed
• Fonts render more reliably. Fixed a case where an installed font could silently fall back to a default typeface in generated text.
• The “Cooking…” indicator no longer disappears mid-generation. Its idle/cooking/done detection has been rebuilt around the panel’s own send-and-finish lifecycle, so the indicator now stays visible for the whole turn, reliably clears to “Done” when the agent finishes, and reattaches itself if the panel redraws while a request is running.
• Generations no longer get stuck after an unanswered question. If a question from the agent was left pending, the next generation could be blocked with “a user question is pending.” It now clears the stale question automatically and continues.
